Army fitness. U.S. Army soldiers are required to take the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) at least twice a year. The physical fitness test measures three exercises: push-ups, sit-ups, and a timed two-mile run. Soldiers are required to score 50 points per event in order to graduate Army Basic Training and a minimum of 60 points on each event to pass the follow up test.
